Ami here from the NewDem Action Fund. This isn't a political email -- just a sincere message to say I hope you and your family are weathering the COVID-19 pandemic.
I've been a physician a lot longer than I've been a Member of Congress. Keeping people healthy is job number one for a doctor. Watching this illness spread, and seeing health care providers struggle to keep up, is tough. The coming weeks and months will be ripe with challenge.
I'm here to tell you though, as a lawmaker and a physician, that we will get through this.
As you're no doubt aware, Congress just passed a massive stimulus package intended to support everyone affected -- individuals, state and local governments, health care providers, and businesses alike.
Is it going to fix every problem we have ahead of us? Of course not. We will all have to remain vigilant to contain the spread of the disease while also getting our economy back on track.
I promise to do my part. If you're looking for ways to help, you can consider making a contribution to an organization that's working for the hardest-hit Americans.
