John,
I hope that you are doing well during these trying times. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been an unexpected turn of events for all of us, including those of us working at the National Center for Transgender Equality. We’ve had to completely transform the way that our office operates, including upgrading our webinar software and instating a remote work policy that will remain in effect through at least the end of April, and likely longer. But while the logistics of how we work may have changed, our commitment to the mission of advancing trans equality has not wavered.
That said, the coronavirus has created some potential barriers to the work we had planned and we want to address them with you during a community webinar on Tuesday, March 31st. Some of the questions this new reality has raised include:
- What is NCTE doing to ensure the safety of its employees during this time?
- How will federal policy efforts be affected if the government shuts down?
- How will our state advocacy shift as legislative sessions are cut short?
- Will this new environment effect NCTE’s ability to perform the 2020 US Trans Survey?
- What role can the NCTE Action Fund take in the 2020 election during the era of social distancing?
- What other changes can we expect to see?
We want to answer these questions and any other questions you might have during our community webinar scheduled for March 31st at 8:00 pm EST. Please click here to register. Registration for the call is required as space is limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. All registered attendees will receive a link to join the webinar 24 hours before the webinar is scheduled to begin.
I will be joined on the webinar by NCTE’s two Deputy Executive Directors, Lisa Mottet and Rodrigo Heng-Lehtinen.

We know things are rapidly changing and we look forward to discussing with you how we are going to continue to fight for trans people across this country.
Stay safe,
|
