We?ve also installed a rapid in Wirksworth, and the long awaited charge points at Wilkinson Street Park & Ride car park have arrived with 18 fast sockets and a rapid charger!

Not one, but TWO new government grants to support transport in and around Nottingham

Hot on the heels of the Highways England award which is allowing us to continue our business ULEV vehicle loans, we?ve successfully been awarded ?161m as part of the Transforming Cities fund and ?16.7m as part of the Future Transport Zones fund!

What does this mean for our Go Ultra Low team?

We?ll be expanding our rapid charge point network, especially in the corridor between Nottingham and Derby, and we?ll be creating electric mobility hubs to encourage alternative travel methods which will also offer electric car club hire, electric bike sharing, and electric charge points, among other things. On top of this, our Workplace Travel Service will continue funding our business support package, helping businesses offer more sustainable travel options for their staff. We'll keep you posted about the relaunch of our Workplace Travel grants in future newsletters.

Raleigh launches new online cycle to work scheme for electric bikes

Raleigh have launched their Electric Bike Access, Raleigh?s cycle to work scheme aimed at getting more people on electric bikes. Their online salary sacrifice benefit saves employees up to 42% on retail prices and spreads the cost over 12 months interest free. Orders can be processed in a matter of days and there are no limits.

Raleigh are one of the only manufacturers to offer a cycle to work scheme directly, the hassle-free online portal gives the employer complete control to manage the benefit centrally and means virtually no administration.

Works Social making sustainable connections

Works Social are encouraging sustainable transport practices across their business. Their Active Travel event with our Workplace Travel Service introduced them to Ridewise who organised a Dr Bike pop-up repair shop, and Sustrans who talked about planning greener, healthier commutes, including alternative transport and route planning.

Installation of the month

A.H. Garner Ltd, who specialise in the supply of hydraulic cylinders, are one of the latest of our Workplace Travel Service awardees to receiving a ?7,600 ?Workplace Travel grant for two charge points to futureproof their EV charging and encourage commuting to work in a low emission vehicle. A.H. Garner have said that they ?hope to make an active contribution to curbing vehicle emissions as well as reducing dangerous air pollution in our community.?

Creating A Low Emission City Conference 26th March - Postponed

It is with great disappointment that due to the recent Government guidance on the coronavirus a decision has now been taken to postpone the ?Creating a Low Emission City? Conference.

But don?t get too despondent. We intend to reschedule the event to take place later in the year once the pandemic has passed. Those who previously booked a place will be given priority booking for tickets at the rescheduled Conference. Both celebrity speakers Mark Goodier and Robert Llewellyn (pictured) have already agreed to participate once it?s rescheduled. ?We will keep you posted when the new date is announced.
