The Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill is due its Second Reading in the House of Commons on 22nd March, and we need your support to help make sure this Bill becomes law. 

This long-awaited legislation has the potential to be world-leading and protect many species from the devastating impacts of trophy hunting. 

Despite repeated Government promises to ban the import of hunting trophies, in the almost nine years since the horrific killing of Cecil the Lion by an American trophy hunter in Zimbabwe, at least 60 more lions and hundreds of individual animals from many other species have been killed by British trophy hunters.   

Using our simple form and template letter, please write to your MP and urge them to:

• Attend the Second Reading of the Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill on 22nd March 2024, and vote in favour of the Bill.

• Speak up for wild animals by supporting and defending the legislation against any opposition to ensure it remains as strong as possible.

By using our Write to Your MP tool, the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Steve Barclay MP, will also be copied in, asking him to ensure the Bill has the full backing of the Government.
