Patriot,

The Chinese Communist Party has placed a 1 million dollar bounty on one of the Dissident Project speaker’s heads. Do you want to know how she found out?

Frances Hui woke up at seven in the morning and discovered dozens of texts and calls asking her if she was okay after the announcement.

This is practically a death sentence if she returns to Hong Kong.

A lot of us expected this to come, but it was definitely shocking news.

Her activism in the U.S. for Hong Kong, democracy, and freedom is now criminalized in Hong Kong. However, that hasn’t stopped Frances’ advocacy. Frances Hui is the first Hong Kong activist to receive political asylum in America and a speaker with the Dissident Project.

The Dissident Project provides high schools with access to informed, intelligent perspectives from speakers who have lived under current and former socialist states worldwide.

Your generous support helps our speakers share their stories at no cost to the schools. Please consider donating to the Dissident Project  by clicking here >>>

This isn’t the first time the CCP has threatened Frances Hui for her pro-democracy advocacy.

Back in 2019, she received death threats for organizing solidarity rallies in Boston to support the Hong Kong pro-democracy movement. Her personal information and photos were shared widely around the Chinese community. Some threatened to protest her activities in front of her church and her home.

At a rally she organized in August of that year, the Chinese consulate mobilized hundreds of Chinese people to show up. They exchanged messages about bringing firearms to the rally and threatening to shoot her!

The intense standoff between the two sides later turned physical when a man tried to start a fight with members of the community. He then followed Francis to her dorm in an attempt to intimidate her. Local police came and escorted him away, but he faced no repercussions.

Please donate $20.24, $50, $100, or any amount you can generously afford to get this story in front of high school students nationwide >>

Frances spent the rest of her senior year of college living in constant fear of being watched and followed.

Four years later, although one of the operatives involved in spying on her activities was indicted by the Department of Justice for acting as a Chinese agent in the U.S., many others have not faced any consequences.

It’s chilling to imagine that some of these people continue to walk around freely and harass dissidents in broad daylight on American soil.

But these acts of intimidation will not stop Frances from advocating for freedom and democracy.

She is working with the Dissident Project to share her experience with high school students. They need to hear that evil authoritarian governments aren't a thing of the past.

Your generous donation gives students a chance to hear her story.

Dissident Project speakers have the power to show students across the country the value of freedom, what can happen when it’s taken away, and what you have to risk to get it back.

So far, they’ve shared their stories with nearly 15,000 American students, and with your support, we can reach even more this year.
