John, next week will be the six year anniversary since the devastating Parkland shooting. Despite progress for common sense gun reform, there is still no federal ban on assault weapons.

Weapons of war do not belong in our communities, John. Assault weapons are designed to wreak havoc and that’s why nearly a dozen states banned them.

My Democratic colleagues and I have been hard at work trying to address this crisis, but the gun lobby has the GOP at their beck and call, blocking any efforts for an assault weapons ban or further gun violence prevention legislation.
