Rob filed an amicus brief in support of affordable housing development in the city of Eureka, and issued consumer alerts informing renters of their rights under state law.
Whether you own or rent your home in California, Rob is looking out for you.
This week, the Attorney General filed an amicus brief supporting the city of Eureka in a lawsuit challenging their efforts to bring more affordable, climate-friendly housing to an area experiencing a severe housing shortage.
While a local opposition group is fighting to stop this development, Rob stands with Eureka in its efforts to provide affordable housing in and around downtown that would enable residents to live near their jobs, services, and public transportation.
The AG also issued consumer alerts this week to inform tenants of their rights and protections under state law, while reminding landlords and property managers of their responsibilities to those who rent from them, including the maximum annual rent increase currently allowed by law. With 44% of California residents living in rented homes, it’s critical that they know their rights regardless of immigration status, employment status, race, or gender identity.
