Jack, bad news for anti-vaxx extremist and "Democrat"-turned-independent ~~spoiler~~ presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.: A federal judge just threw one of his bogus lawsuits out of court!

A quick recap in case you're just tuning in:

A pseudonymous Daily Kos community writer wrote about RFK Jr.'s appearance at a COVID conspiracy rally hosted by a group with links to neo-Nazis. He sued Daily Kos to expose the writer's identity. We fought him in court.
RFK Jr. discovered the writer's identity through other means and sued him for defamation. He just lost that suit, though he could appeal the decision.
Along the way, RFK Jr. decided to run against President Biden for the Democratic nomination, became a "star" witness for House Republicans, used his new platform to push his quack conspiracy theories to new heights, and then dropped out of the primary to run as an independent.

Daily Kos is still fighting Kennedy in court, in his original case against us. Unlike Kennedy, Daily Kos doesn't have a vast family fortune upon which to draw. As a progressive, independent news outlet, our biggest source of income is donations of just a few bucks at a time from readers like you. At a time when news outlets are coming under extraordinary financial pressure, with hundreds of layoffs already in 2024, fighting this frivolous suit has been a terrible expense for us to bear.
