Friend — Tonight is the Super Bowl! You probably know which teams are playing, who is doing the halftime show, and who Taylor Swift is dating. But you might NOT know that the Super Bowl is UNION MADE. From the players and referees to the technical staff to the stagehands who set up the halftime show, what you see on your screen would be impossible without union workers. As the wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, neighbor, and friend of union members, I know the difference unions make to ensure working-class families like mine can live and thrive. And in the past year, we’ve seen unions go to bat for better wages, hours, and working conditions for teachers, autoworkers, actors, hotel workers, writers and journalists, delivery people, and thousands of others. I’ve fought for higher wages, safe working conditions, and collective bargaining rights in the State Senate. I’ll do the same in Congress. But to get there, we need to dig deep.
