Dear Friends/Amigos, I am privileged to serve a community whose men and women in uniform show remarkable courage and bravery. I had a chance to catch up with some of Miami's Finest, and award them for their dedication. I spoke with the heroic woman running for president in Venezuela against the tyrannical Maduro regime, María Corina Machado. I reiterated to her and the Biden Administration that there is no plan B, she must be the candidate against Maduro this year. I also wanted to remind you that my Miami district office will be holding a Spanish-language webinar with representatives from USCIS on February 21 at 5pm about the parole process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans. HONORING MIAMI'S FINEST

The work our men and women in uniform do every day to keep my constituents in Florida's 27th Congressional District safe is nothing short of heroic. Their work shows us that maintaining a secure community leads to happiness and prosperity. Over the last few weeks, my staff has been working with police chiefs across District 27 in a rigorous nomination process to identify 75 police officers who have shown exemplary service in the line of duty. I am proud to have awarded those police officers with Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition as a token of our appreciation, and reminded them that in Washington, I have their back. MARÍA CORINA MACHADO IS VENEZUELA'S CHANCE FOR FREEDOM. THERE IS NO PLAN B.

The Maduro regime has shown the world that it knows no limits in how far it will go to prevent a challenge to its power. Venezuelan presidential candidate María Corina Machado has shown her people that she is the only person capable of defeating the Chavista regime and bringing freedom and prosperity back to her country. This is the message I laid out to the Biden Administration in my roundtable discussion with María Corina Machado and the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee last week. We must back María Corina every step of the way in her fight to liberate her people, and there can be no plan B when it comes to the Maduro regime. SUPPORTING NICKLAUS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

One of the best parts of being your Congresswoman is bringing back home results that you and I can see. And last week, I had the chance to see the very hard-earned fruits of my office's labor for you. I was proud to join Nicklaus Children's Hospital for an event to present them with two checks totaling $1.45 million for essential mental health facility upgrades and patient safety technology improvements. I helped secure this critical funding in the appropriations process last fiscal year, and I am thrilled the staff at Nicklaus Children's will be able to put it to good use. Nothing makes me happier than knowing our community's children are receiving the care they need. Rest assured, I will never stop fighting for Miami's children in Congress. Read about the event here.
