Hey team — I’m getting ready to watch the big game tonight, and I know you are, too — so I’ll keep this quick.
I’m not a Chiefs fan or a 49ers fan (go Giants!), but tonight’s game is still going to be a win-win for everyone. Why? Because no matter who you root for or where you’re watching from, you’ll be able to tune in no matter what. Just as it should be.
For months, I’ve been calling out Roger Goodell, the NFL team owners, and the greedy corporations forcing loyal sports (and Taylor Swift) fans to pay even more to watch their teams play. Families shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars to streaming services, only to find out that because of loopholes in antitrust laws, their home team’s game isn’t airing in their area.
It’s absurd. If you pay to watch your team play, you should be able to watch your team play. Period.
No matter who you’re rooting for tonight, this should be the last season that corporate greed gets in the way of watching our favorite teams play. If you’re with me, please add your name in support of my work to end sports blackouts.
Thanks for stepping up, team. Enjoy the game tonight!
Yours in service,
Pat
