Dear John,
Fixing our democracy is a crucial first step in achieving the lasting change we so desperately need to get this country back on its feet.
Whether it’s protecting our planet, rebuilding our relationship with Europe, or fixing the cost of living crisis, it all begins with a truly representative democracy.
There is a consensus for bold action on climate change. The majority of people think Brexit was a mistake. And even the rich and powerful don’t deny they are getting richer while everyone else is struggling to get by.
But is the government listening? No. They are focussed on their own priorities.
A properly functioning democracy would force the government of the day to address OUR priorities, not theirs.
