Hello fellow climate activists,
Communities deserve to breathe clean air, free of diesel emissions and pollution. Electric trucks and vehicles are cleaner transportation options that emit less pollutants, are cost effective, and easier to maintain. Join NET-Z’s virtual power hour to learn more about electric vehicles (EV’s) and the benefits they bring to our communities.
Breathing in diesel pollution on a regular basis can cause health issues like asthma, bronchitis, heart attacks, other health issues, and even premature death. People who live, work, or go to school near highways, warehouses, intermodal rail, truck freight facilities, loading docks, and fleet garages face higher health risks from diesel pollution.
NET-Z (Neighbors for an Equitable Transition to Zero-Emissions) wants to make sure that overburdened communities directly impacted by diesel pollution know about the benefits of electrifying diverse methods of transportation. Join us on Tuesday, February 13th at 6pm CT to learn more about the social, environmental, and economic benefits of EV’s.
To tackle this diesel pollution problem, environmental advocates are working to pass HB1634, rules to help Illinois increase the overall availability of zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) in the state while slashing health harming pollution from new diesel and gasoline engines through the implementation of three clean vehicle standards: Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT), Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus (HDO), and Advanced Clean Cars II (ACC II). We invite you to read more about these efforts here.
In solidarity,
Team 350 Chicago
