Maine GOP launches video holding Shady Sara Gideon accountable for violating federal campaign finance law

AUGUSTA – The Maine Republican Party this morning released a short video holding Speaker Sara Gideon accountable for her repeated violation of federal straw donor laws and restrictions on funneling corporate money into federal campaigns.

The video, which highlights news headlines confirming Gideon’s clear-cut and admitted violation of the law, is available on Facebook.

"Speaker Gideon’s weak excuses and bizarre action after getting caught are just not sincere. She has not even tried to atone for such a serious violation of trust," said Maine GOP Chair Dr. Demi Kouzounas.

"Whether it is trying to give away Maine’s voice as a legislator, or ignoring federal campaign finance laws to funnel corporate PAC money, Shady Sara Gideon always seems to be up to something. It’s time for the people of Maine to know someone is holding her accountable."
