Our next Local Peace Economy Community Call is on Wednesday, February 14th at 5:00 PT/8:00 ET <[link removed]>.

Embracing care is a critical step on our local peace economy journeys. One of the war economy’s many lies is that self-sufficiency is a sign of strength - and even possible to begin with - when the reality of life is that all of us are alive because we have been cared for. Care is what sustains us.



So, how are we participating in the flow of care in our lives? How are we contributing to its passing through, so it can be shared with and experienced by all?



Care can look so many different ways, all beautiful, from sharing a garden’s harvest with neighbors (or better yet, cultivating a garden together), to tending to littles ones and elders, to participating in a mutual aid group near you. One local peace economy project, the Boston Ujima Project <[link removed]>, has been intentionally asking what care looks like in their community. We can learn a lot about how to cultivate community care from their story <[link removed]>.

Alienation to Connection



The war economy depends on us feeling separate from one another. But the reality is that we are all connected, and our thriving depends on us living from this knowing.



Where in your life do you experience alienation? Where do you see opportunities to practice connection? What resistance, if any, comes up when you think about intentionally living from a place of connection in these places?
