Gun violence is the number one cause of death for children in America. American families are riddled by the possibility of a gun violence incident everywhere they turn.
We have a public health crisis on our hands while Republicans refuse to take the steps necessary to curb gun violence and reinstate the assault weapons ban.

Next week is the anniversary of the Parkland school shooting. The loved ones of victims and the survivors of Parkland, Uvalde, Oxford, the 656 mass shootings in 2023 and countless others will live with that trauma forever.
The last time meaningful gun violence legislation passed Democrats had the majority. The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act strengthened background checks, funded school safety & mental health, and supported red flag laws.
Elected officials have a duty to address the gun violence epidemic but the GOP leadership ignores the crisis plaguing our communities to appease the gun lobby. So we’re taking action now:
