The Republican Party is in shambles, and they have no one to blame but themselves. Just consider how much humiliation they suffered in the span of 24 hours.

First, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell helped kill a compromise on the U.S.-Mexico border that he had previously pushed as essential. All because Donald Trump doesn't want Congress to accomplish anything before the November election.

Speaking of Trump, the D.C. Circuit Court then issued a 3-0 decision that says he does not have immunity to commit crimes when he was president. This allows for the Trump trials to move forward before the election, and that Republicans may be stuck with a convicted felon.

GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson then suffered a humiliating defeat—when his misguided push to impeach Biden Homeland Security Secretary failed in Congress. Johnson calculated they could pass this measure, because one Democrat (Rep. Al Green) was out on surgery. But they didn't count on him returning from the hospital, and they lost.

Sign the petition: GOP cannot be trusted to tie their own shoes, much less govern.

Let us be clear. Republicans have no one to blame but themselves. No one forced them to rally behind a presidential candidate who tried to overthrow the last election.

No one is requiring them to do that candidate's bidding by sabotaging any progress on an issue they claim is in crisis. And trying to ram through a baseless impeachment simply because one member of Congress is currently in the hospital is the height of cruelty.
