I’d like to write to you all today about the amazing work that’s been happening in our state to empower families.
Hi John,
I’d like to write to you all today about the amazing work that’s been happening in our state to empower families.
As a nurse, I’ve worked hands-on in the hospital helping to deliver babies and take care of newborns. I’ve also spent night shifts in the maternal child unit, witnessing firsthand the magic of new families coming together.
That’s a big reason why I was an early leader in the fight for paid family and medical leave. Just two years ago, Delaware became the 12th state to pass the historic safety net expansion, and I am proud to be part of the team that made it all happen.
John, I believe that building a solid foundation for new families is invaluable to the future of our state – it strengthens community ties and increases physical and mental health. New parents deserve quality time to bond with their children before going back to work… you can never get those first few months back!
Having been a working mother myself, I know it’s crucial to keep this work going – and I’ll need your help to get me there.
With your support, I will have the honor of serving as the first nurse governor in the United States. The care that I have brought to my nursing work is the same care I’ll bring to the Governor’s mansion. I hope you’ll consider chipping in to my campaign today!
