and it’s time that Congress prioritizes working families
Team,
I travel across the country with my colleagues in the Democratic Caucus to discuss one of the most critical issues affecting families across the country: the child care crisis.
Costs are far too high for working parents to manage. Wages are too low for caregivers to make a living. You don’t need to be an expert to see how unsustainable this is for families and for our economy.
Child care is infrastructure — essential to the well-being of our country. It’s what drives early child development, allows parents to remain in the workforce, and is critical to businesses’ ability to retain their employees.
My House Democratic colleagues are serious about addressing the needs of families and caregivers — we even just passed an expanded Child Tax Credit last week! However, this bill isn’t enough. We need to overhaul the whole system, and soon.
