While airlines rake in billions of dollars, flight attendants are standing together for fair compensation and retirement security.

Hi John,

The airline industry had a record number of travelers in the past year and made billions in profit. That trend is expected to continue this year and beyond.

At the same time, more than two-thirds of the U.S. flight attendants are in contract negotiations, including red-hot contract fights at Alaska Airlines, Air Wisconsin, United Airlines, Omni Air International, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines and more.

Those corporations are not making fair contract offers to the workers who create their record profits. So 100,000 flight attendants are standing together for a Worldwide Flight Attendant Day of Action.

There’s an event at an airport near you on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Can you join us?

Here’s more directly from the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA), the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the unions representing those workers:

This moment is not about what uniform we wear: It’s about what unites us, and that unity transcends airlines. Our time on the job must be compensated. We need retirement security. We need flexibility and control of our lives. Legacy sexism that shapes attitudes towards this industry devalues our jobs. These attitudes must be stamped out and replaced with the true value of our work. Like every other worker around the world, we need to go to work to live, not just live to work. We are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve the landmark contracts that reflect the profits our work creates. Together, 100,000 flight attendants are pushing our careers forward this year — battling corporate greed.

Join us on Tuesday, February 13, at more than 30 airports for a worldwide day of action and picketing event. It’s our turn.

Thank you for showing up for the workers who make airline travel possible.

In Solidarity,

Team AFL-CIO
