Hi John, it’s Congressmen Josh Harder and Jared Golden.
As Democrats in two of the most competitive races in the country, corporate PACs have spent millions of dollars to try and flip our seats. So believe us when we say dark money is a serious problem in our country’s politics.
You can look in any direction from Capitol Hill and you’ll find a corporation looking to influence somebody’s vote. It's just plain wrong and it has to stop.
That’s why together we’re reintroducing the Ban Corporate PACs Act to eliminate the power of corporations to influence our elections.
In the 2020 election cycle, corporate PACs gave more than $400 million to federal campaigns - and that’s expected to grow even bigger this cycle.
Corporations have too much power over politicians. Just take a look at how much your prescriptions cost and you’ll see how politicians are letting corporations price gouge our families. Government should be about helping people, not increasing corporate profits.
We believe that you have to put your money where your mouth is. That’s why we’re two of the only Democrats in Congress who refuse to take corporate PAC money - and now we’re leading the charge in Congress to ban the influence of corporate PACs on our elections.
Thank you for taking a stand with us against dark money in politics,
Jared Golden & Josh Harder
