In 2022, the bodies of brutally murdered children were discovered outside a Washington, D.C. abortion facility.
It shocked the conscience of the nation and prompted dozens of members of Congress to demand a proper investigation into the deaths of the children.
However, that investigation never happened because the Biden administration’s Department of Justice wanted this issue to just go away. They did not want the American people to see the honest horrors of abortion, even when those horrors violated federal law.
This week, it was reported that the Biden Department of Justice has told the D.C. Medical Examiner to destroy the remains of five babies.
Some of these preemie-sized children appeared to have been born alive and left to die. Others looked like they had been victims of illegal partial-birth dismemberment abortions. Yet D.C. and federal authorities failed to perform autopsies or investigate the abortion facility.
The Washington Surgi-Clinic, where these children were found, has a long, illicit history. In 2012, Live Action recorded abortionist Cesare Santangelo admitting he would leave a baby to die if born alive after a failed abortion. Again, no investigation from law enforcement.
Each baby lost to abortion is the victim of a serious injustice, yet our legal system neglects to protect them. Although laws in D.C. and at the federal level safeguard infants born alive and victims of the brutal practice of partial-birth abortion, authorities in these jurisdictions blatantly shirk their responsibility to enforce such laws.
This constitutes a full-scale assault on children, and any authority figure who turns a blind eye to this crisis shares in the guilt.
Members of Congress must step in and exercise their oversight authority over the District of Columbia, demand the preservation of these bodies, and an in-depth investigation into whether their deaths violated federal law.
The facility and abortionist responsible for the murder of the five children, the Washington Surgi-Clinic and its proprietor Cesare Santangelo, must also be investigated and shut down for their criminal activity.
These innocent children never had a chance to live. They never had a chance to be loved, to celebrate their first birthday, or had the opportunity to show the world their potential. Instead, they were brutally slaughtered and discarded.
We demand Justice for the Five. May justice prevail.
