"Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."

– Hebrews 13:1-2

Praise God for a successful three-day training of 42 Guatemalan police investigators. The training was focused on photography and video techniques that will improve the investigators’ ability to provide visual evidence to resolve criminal investigations of sexual violence against women and children. The participants were very thankful for the skills acquired and commented on their desire to replicate this knowledge among their colleagues. Please pray for blessings and protection for over 180 more police investigators that will soon participate in the same training as we bring it to other regions of Guatemala.

Praise God for a conviction in Kenya for a police abuse of power case! A Kenyan court has sentenced a police officer to seven years in prison for the fatal shooting of an innocent man in 2015. The conviction, obtained with the help of IJM lawyers, highlights the importance of police accountability and offers some relief to the victim’s family after eight years of legal pursuit. The judge acknowledged the excessive force used by the officer and the injustice of storming the man’s home without a warrant, marking a milestone in the fight against police brutality and abuse of power in Kenya.

Pray for a creative new awareness campaign in one of the states where we work. We’ll drive decorated vans through each district and host small events to raise awareness of human trafficking and other crimes at the village level. Pray for our partnerships with local officials and influencers to get the word out, and pray these local campaigns help communities stay safer.

Praise God for our survivor leaders in the Philippines! Survivor leadership plays a crucial role in the movement to end violence, with survivors offering valuable expertise and experiences. Over the last several months, they have provided input for research projects, advocated for child-centered approaches and participated in global publications and events. We pray that survivors from the Philippine Survivor Network will continue to amplify their voices to drive change and ensure survivor inclusion in solutions aimed at combating exploitation and violence.

Praise God for increased media coverage in the US surrounding the online sexual exploitation of children. In the wake of US lawmakers hearing from CEOs of the largest tech companies, we are grateful for the light being shined on this dark issue. We pray for

the EARN IT Act to be brought to a vote, and that legislators would see the importance of protecting children around the globe from crimes happening via technology we use every day.

The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
