The last couple of months have been some of the most challenging moments for our community and for humanity as a whole. We had to postpone our gala from last October to now upcoming this Sunday, Feb. 11th, 2024, due to the circumstances. As we were getting ready to unveil our new Executive Director and share the good news with our friends and supporters, our collective conscious made us take a pause.
This Sunday's event will be quite special nevertheless, because now more than ever, the work of MCN and its efforts to make a dent in shaping the narrative for Muslim Americans is ever greater than before. Our advocacy on making our cities and institutions more inclusive of our diverse voices is more important than ever before. Our education on who we are as Muslims, while we continue to see the rise in attacks and hate against us, is more important than ever before.
That's why, I am calling on you to come support us and join us in community this Sunday evening to gather ourselves in this moment of history and say it ever louder than before, that we, as a community are stronger than the forces that work to divide us!
December 2023 - MCN gathered the Muslim Stakeholder Roundtable to meet with the Governor's office to discuss the rise in hate crimes and how the State can address our concerns and needs.
We've designed a program that is relevant and that truly honors our 21-year-old mission. I hope you will join me and bring your families to come celebrate in community with MCN on Sunday and come learn about all the ways we're making an impact.
