Kansas’ Republican attorney general tells schools they must out trans kids to parents, even with no specific law
Attorney General and law-and-order-man-in-name-only Kris Kobach is now telling public schools across the state they’re required to tell parents their children are transgender or nonbinary even if they're not out at home, though Kansas is very clearly NOT among the states with a law that explicitly says school officials must do that. Kobach's rogue declaration is just his latest move to restrict transgender rights, as the radical right-winger has repeatedly attempted to assert his authority in so-called culture war issues where he has no legal authority to do so. When Republicans like Kobach claim they're for smaller government and greater personal responsibility, they're lying through their bleached teeth.

The GOP's greater political project may once again be sabotaged from the inside by their own members' personal greed and ambitions. Rep. Matt Rosendale, a deranged Freedom Caucus MAGA extremist, is also jumping in the race to unseat Democrat Jon Tester, much to the frustration of Mitch McConnell and his hand-picked, so-called establishment candidate, Tim Sheehy. Should the GOP voter base choose the Trumpiest candidate (again), it will likely set up a familiar situation (think Doug Mastriano, Herschel Walker, Blake Masters, Roy Moore, or Dr. Oz, to name more than a few) in which the primary produces a far-right, extremist candidate so thoroughly unappetizing to general election voters they break yet again for the Democrat in an otherwise winnable race. Proceed, sir!

"Just so despicable": Democrats furious over Hur's Biden report
Far from being concerned about President Biden's mental acuity, Senate Democrats are infuriated by special counsel — and Trump appointee — Robert Hur for claiming that Biden had a poor memory in his report exonerating the president of wrongdoing in his classified documents case. "What you have is a grandstander not a prosecutor," said Sen. Tim Kaine, while Sen. Tina Smith referenced her recent interactions with Biden in which he was "at the top of his game" and blasted Hur as "a Trump appointee who, clearly in my mind, when you look at it, has a political ax to grind." Vice President Harris said the report on Biden was "gratuitous, inaccurate, and inappropriate." It's reasonable to be concerned about the president's age, but "Many People Are Saying" is not an appropriate assessment for any Trumper to be making.
