** DUP £1bn reaffirmed by 'fact check'
------------------------------------------------------------
This week, the ' ([link removed]) FactCheckNI' ([link removed]) website ran an article looking at the £1billion delivered by the DUP to Northern Ireland and checking the accuracy of this claim.

This independent check delivered the verdict of ACCURATE - that the DUP has delivered an extra £1billion of funding to Northern Ireland. No other party has delivered any extra funding for vital public services.

There have been some who have attempted to cast doubt on the amount secured by the DUP for schools, hospitals, roads and broadband through the Confidence and Supply Agreement at Westminster. No-one else will highlight these achievements, so it is vital that we all share these facts.

Party Leader Arlene Foster MLA commented,
"I have been struck in recent weeks how some people still query if the ONE BILLION has been deposited or if it was just a headline.

This week’s update seeks to breakdown where the one billion has been spent and where it will be used to help people.

Please use these graphics for your social media and share the news that whilst other parties complain, only the DUP has delivered for Northern Ireland.

Those who attack the Confidence & Supply Agreement have not delivered a single extra penny for our schools, roads or hospitals.

Spread the word and don’t be afraid to publicise how we have delivered more for public services."

** Policy Consultations Launched
------------------------------------------------------------
Over the last week we have launched a number of policy consultations to develop and enhance the Party's policies in a number of areas.

If you have an interest or expertise in these areas then please take the time to read them and respond. Also, if you know anyone else who could help the Party develop our policy in these areas then encourage them to participate also.

You can access each of the consultations on the Party website:

** New All Party Group on Strengthening the Union
------------------------------------------------------------
South Belfast MP Emma Little Pengelly has helpe establish a new All Party Group at Westminster on Strengthening the Union. Writing in the Belfast Telegraph after she was confirmed as chair of the Group she said,

“I am often reminded of Thomas Jefferson’s famous quote that, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” It is not enough for us to recognise the attempts of others, or risks posed. We must act to challenge the flawed arguments and do all we can to promote and strengthen our Union.

It is for that reason that I have founded the House of Commons, All-Party Parliamentary Group on Strengthening the Union. MPs and Lords from across all parts of our United Kingdom have come together to fight for and make the case for our Union. We do not want to simply maintain the current position, but instead strengthen the bonds that bring us together.

I was delighted that those who value the Union from every part of the United Kingdom were present to show there is unity across the nation when it comes to standing against those who attempt to undermine the Union for their own short-sighted, narrow political agendas. I am privileged to have been elected the inaugural Chairperson, a task that I will pursue with passion and vigour."
