Celebrating the Vietnamese Community

This week, my fellow Congressional Vietnam Caucus Co-chair, Rep. Lou Correa (D-CA), and I introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the contributions of the Vietnamese American community in the United States. Our district is home to Little Saigon and almost 190,000 Vietnamese Americans, making it the largest Vietnamese population in the world outside of Vietnam.

I am proud to be a voice for Little Saigon, and to serve as co-chair of the Congressional Vietnamese Caucus. Vietnamese Americans have greatly benefited Southern California as small business owners, teachers, parents, community leaders, and so much more. As we celebrate Tết and the Year of the Dragon, I am glad to recognize the incredible impact of Vietnamese Americans on our country in pursuit of their own American Dreams.

Intern in My Office

The application to intern in my Washington, D.C. or Cypress, CA offices for the Summer is now open. Students selected for an internship will gain invaluable work experience while learning about the inner workings of the House of Representatives. 

Candidates must possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills. In addition, we are seeking highly collaborative team players with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. If you are a hardworking, dedicated individual who has a desire to help improve the Southern California community, this internship is for you!

Tax Relief for American Families

California families and small businesses endure some of the highest taxes in the nation. I have met with constituents across southern California and share their first hand experience of high gas prices, inflation, and the rising cost of living. At the same time our local business leaders have shared with me the burden of bureaucratic red tape that ties up their operations in our beautiful state. When I came to Washington, I made a commitment to bringing down taxes for California families and small businesses across the board.

That is why I am so proud to report that the House of Representatives has passed a bipartisan pro-growth, pro-family, pro-small business, pro-worker tax package that locks in major tax savings for our families and local businesses. The Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act will enhance the child tax credit and adjust it for inflation and eliminate the penalty for large families.

We were able to protect key provisions that require participation in the workforce to prevent a drop in current employment. Too many families are suffering from historically high inflation that has caused the price of living to skyrocket. This legislation ensures more of the money hardworking families earn stays in their pockets.
