President Biden's EPA just released a stronger standard for soot pollution that will protect thousands of people from asthma and air pollution-related deaths each year.

The initial draft of the rule did not go far enough, so over 11,000 of you stepped up to submit a public comment to the EPA, joining a national movement of advocates speaking out to protect our communities.

We specifically called for the new, stronger standard of 9 micrograms per cubic meter, which research shows will prevent 4,500 deaths per year and hundreds of thousands of other medically related events.

We are grateful that EPA has taken necessary action on soot.  Now, the  administration must turn their attention to the remaining air quality standards.
