You're Invited to our Annual Town Hall Forum!
Join us at the Hurst Conference Center for our annual Town Hall Forum on February 29! This is an excellent opportunity to hear from city staff and connect with our mayor and city council members. From 6-7:30 p.m., enjoy refreshments while listening to a few presentations, then stick around from 7:30-8 p.m. for a meet and greet with our mayor, city council, and staff.

Citizen Survey
Let us know how we're doing! This is your chance to provide feedback used by City Council and staff to put together next year's budget. The survey will be open through the end of February.
Citizens Police Academy
The next Citizens Police Academy is scheduled to start March 28, 2024. The Hurst Police Department sponsors the Citizens Police Academy (CPA) with the goal of educating the citizens of Hurst on the “Hows and Whys” of the Hurst Police Department and its operations. This is accomplished through a series of lectures and hands-on activities on Thursday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. for ten weeks. The CPA classes are held at the Hurst Justice Center, located at 825 Thousand Oaks.
Each applicant must be at least 21 years of age, live, work or attend a church in the City of Hurst and successfully pass a background investigation. Applications must be turned in no later than Friday, March 22, 2024 by 5 p.m. To successfully graduate, each participant is required to attend at least 8 of the 10 sessions.

Story Laboratory: The Sun!
Tuesday, February 13 at 6:30 p.m. Hurst Public Library (901 Precinct Line Rd.)
To prepare for the Great American Total Eclipse of 2024, we’ll learn about our solar system with all five senses through stories, science experiments, crafts, tasty bites, and more. This month, we’ll explore the Sun, in collaboration with NASA@ My Library, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and The Franklin Institute. Save the date: Solar Eclipse Extravaganza, April 8, 2024, at Hurst Public Library.
Bad HeART Night
Thursday, February 22 at 6 p.m. for teens and adults Hurst Public Library (901 Precinct Line Rd.)
Whether you like hearts and flowers or Valentine zombies and true crime documentaries, join us for a night of making intentionally bad art! Prizes will be awarded for sweet, sour, and the one with the most heart.

Another opportunity to take our police officer test is on March 23.
Hiring salary: $80,080 Post-probation salary: $87,692
Applicants must pre-register for the Police Officer Entrance Examination and apply for the Police Officer position online.
