This week, the House sought to push forward a partisan and meritless impeachment vote against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, an action that would do nothing to address the crisis at the border and only continue to set a dangerous precedent of employing political power to resolve policy differences.

These extreme efforts failed in part thanks to the courageous leadership of one of our very first elected servant leaders, Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher, who stood up to members of his caucus – putting principle over partisan politics.
