John,

Last week the Supreme Court announced that they would hear arguments for Murthy v. Missouri, formerly known as Missouri v. Biden.

The case which was initially brought forward by the Republican Attorney Generals of Missouri and Louisiana contended that Biden administration officials violated the First Amendment by working with Meta, Twitter (now known as X), and YouTube to engage in “censorship” on misinformation about COVID-19, the vaccine, and the Hunter Biden laptop story.

Our opponent Congressman Jim Jordan, a right-wing extremist, is now using his role as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee to prop up and legitimize this case. He has weaponized our government for personal gain and to protect Trump, this is only the beginning!

A tweet today from the House Judiciary Committee twitter page ran by Jim Jordan and his staff expressing their support for making spreading disinfo a constitutional right.

The White House’s work to prevent COVID-19 and vaccine misinfo on Twitter and other platforms protected Americans and likely saved thousands of lives.

As someone who had anti-vax family members die from COVID-19 I am appalled that Jim Jordan and his house GOP colleagues believe it is a Constitutional Right to spew scientifically unfounded misinformation that gets people killed.

Anyone who has taken a high school government class knows that the Constitution does not protect speech such as shouting fire in a crowded theater - speech that spreads mistruths about essential public health information is no different. There is no Constitutional Right to protect speech that gets people killed.

Strengthening American cyber security is one of the key foundations of my platform and when I am elected I will help to crack down on the lies and misinformation peddled by right-wing extremists like Jim Jordan.

If Jordan wins in November he will get another two years to spread lies about the outcome of the upcoming 2024 election, public health, and god knows what else. We will not let this happen.

John - can we count on you to chip in $10, $25, or even $100 to help us take away Jordan’s platform for amplifying and legitimizing dangerous extreme right-wing lies? We urgently need your support this week as we ramp up the campaign and double down on the work we are doing on the ground.
