John,
My roots are in Danville, California, where my family moved after my father’s job in the clothing business took him out west.
I grew up in a community that believed in service.
From the public school classrooms, where my teachers taught me the power of the spoken word and the lessons to take away from the history books…
To the California forests, where I served as a firefighter and learned about the importance of protecting our precious planet…
The hard-working people of our state have made me who I am today.
Our state is built on a mutual commitment to each other. To equity. To our democracy. To a better tomorrow for us all.
That’s why I took on insurance companies denying people the medical care they needed.
That’s why I prosecuted polluters dumping toxic waste.
That’s why I stepped up to hold Donald Trump to account.
These are the values I’m taking to the United States Senate. California values. A commitment to justice and equality, to freedom and opportunity.
California has made me who I am — and I would be proud to serve all of the people of this great state in the U.S. Senate.
If you’re with me, please pitch in to my campaign today. Our movement is of, by, and for the people — not corporate PACs — so I am counting on your support to help me make it to the Senate.

P.S. You can watch our latest campaign video about how California shaped who I am today. It’s narrated by my good friend, Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
