Dear Friend,
While Telegram readers know the effects of illegal immigration on our communities, few people know about the damage and destruction illegal immigration has on our public lands.
The negative impact illegal immigration has on our environment is staggering, with each illegal immigrant discarding between 6 to 8 pounds of trash as they illegally cross our border.
As Chairman of the Federal Lands Subcommittee, I traveled to Arizona for a field hearing and border tour to see the environmental degradation firsthand.
But what I saw was much more than just piles of trash and human waste.
At the Coronado National Forest, I saw an entire illegal migrant encampment with an unattended campfire, tents, trash, piles of firewood, and blankets from the Red Cross and Catholic Charities – two organizations that are aiding and facilitating the Biden border invasion.
When on federal lands there are strict rules on where campsites and campfires are allowed, but it appears these rules and regulations are reserved for the citizens of this country.
All those pouring over illegally face zero repercussions for this blatant disregard for our public lands and the environment.
So not only do they get free flights around our country and free health care, but they also get to trash and leave human waste on our public lands as their welcoming gift. Click here to watch my opening statement highlighting this.
While the Biden administration turned a blind eye to the environmental consequences of the border crisis, I introduced the TRASHED Border Act to ensure there is greater transparency and increased accountability for illegals who litter on our public lands. You can read more about my bill here.
Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany Member of Congress

UN-believable: Did U.S. taxpayers finance Hamas?
We’ve told you many times about the waste, fraud, and abuse that defines the scandal-plagued United Nations. From the U.N.’s so-called “Human Rights Council” (which has a long history of Israel bashing) to its incompetent affiliated agencies like the World Health Organization (which is reportedly cooking up a new sovereignty-trampling multilateral “pandemic treaty”), the U.N. continues to get more UN-believable with each passing day. That’s why I filed an amendment to cut off the U.N.’s access to U.S. funding earlier this year. It’s also why I was shocked – but not surprised – to learn that at least a dozen employees of the U.N.’s so-called “Relief and Works Agency” (UNRWA) is facing allegations that at least a dozen of its employees participated in the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians – and more than 1,000 reportedly have links to Hamas. Making matters worse, since American taxpayers foot the largest share of the U.N.’s budget, we may have helped finance it. That’s why this week I joined several of my colleagues in again urging congressional budget writers to shut down U.S. funding for this sketchy U.N. organization. You can read our letter here.
Biden backlog threatens national security
It recently came to light that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a massive 15-month backlog of the DNA kits submitted by federal border authorities used to vet illegal aliens entering the country. This means that illegal aliens who may be wanted in connection with a crime are free to roam the United States for over a year before law enforcement can act on the evidence gathered from testing. Processing these kits is imperative to our national security, as border crossings have reached an all-time high under President Biden, overwhelming the system and social services. In Fiscal Year 2023, we saw more than 2.5 million encounters at our southern border – including at least 169 on the terror watch list. The backlog is unacceptable, it is more important than ever that we identify who is entering our country. I joined 16 of my colleagues and Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ-05) in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray expressing our concerns over their inability to process DNA kits in a timely manner and asking what steps they are taking to resolve the backlog. You can read the letter here.
It’s time to delist the gray wolf
Last week, I spoke at a Hunter Nation meeting to discuss the importance of managing the gray wolf population in Wisconsin. By not removing the gray wolf from the Endangered Species Act Wisconsin’s hunters and wildlife are hurting. Since 2000, we have seen a significant drop in the number of deer harvested in Wisconsin while simultaneously seeing a 300% increase in the gray wolf population in the state. This is not a coincidence, and it’s only getting worse. The 2023 gun-deer season was the lowest season ever in Wisconsin – dropping nearly 20% from last year. I want to thank Hunter Nation for inviting me to speak and raising awareness on this important issue.
Its time for Congress to remove the gray wolf from the ESA and return control back to states.

Illegals flying for free around the country?
Yes, illegal immigrants are flying for free around our country, and I saw it with my own eyes. While I was leaving Tucson to fly back to Wisconsin last night, an illegal alien handed me a paper from a non-governmental organization (NGO) named Casa Alitas asking for help finding his flight. Casa Alitas also just made headlines after James O’Keefe exposed them for converting a hotel in Tucson into an illegal immigrant compound. The problem with all this? Your taxpayer dollars are paying for it. NGOs, like Casa Alitas, receive taxpayer dollars and are using that money to house and fly illegals all around our country. In fact, the Biden administration and Democrats attempted to pass what they called a “border security” deal that would give more money to NGOs to facilitate the border invasion. Luckily, that bill failed to pass the Senate, but this is another reason why the Senate must pass H.R. 2 as it would restrict funding to NGOs that facilitate or encourage unlawful activity. Locals deserve input, transparency on “refugee resettlement”
Telegram readers know that state officials and pro-migrant non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been quietly working to bring in large groups of foreigners to our state. Unfortunately, many of those decisions continue to be made behind closed doors, with one NGO going so far as to admit that they “don’t specifically reach out to the elected officials of an area” when it comes to these “resettlements.” That’s why I pressed Governor Evers’ state refugee coordinator last month to make the process more transparent and come clean with the public about any pending “resettlement” schemes currently under consideration. The shocking lack of opportunities for local residents to provide public input are keeping too many Wisconsinites in the dark about these decisions, and that’s a problem. Our friends and neighbors ought to have the final say about what happens in their communities, not unelected bureaucrats in backrooms. I believe our state refugee coordinator has an obligation to be forthcoming with residents before these decisions are made – not simply inform them afterward. That’s why I followed up on my January letter to her earlier this week. You can read more about that here, and see the latest letter I sent here.
