The Kitsap County Commission on Children and Youth is accepting proposals for public matching dollars from organizations and youth-serving agencies who are working to prevent and reduce the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences through building resiliency in youth ages birth to 18 in Kitsap County.
Proposals must be for projects or program services that have a 100 percent cash match in private funds. Private matching funds may include private individual, civic group, non-profit organization, foundation or corporate donations, and fees or earned income. Federal, tribal, state, or local government funds will not be accepted as matching funds. In-kind donations will not be accepted as matching.
Up to $19,500 may be awarded for projects or program services delivered between June 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024. The proposal deadline is Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are 10 experiences children may have during their first 24 years of life and include physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; physical or emotional neglect; and exposure to traumatic stressors in the home (substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence, incarceration of a household member, parental separation, or divorce).
