Public Hearing Notice: Proposed New Service in DBMD, HCS and TxHmL Programs

The Health and Human Services Commission will conduct a hybrid public hearing on Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. to solicit public comment on the implementation of a service similar to prevocational services required by House Bill 4169, 88th Regular Session, 2023, to be added to the Home and Community-based Services (HCS), Texas Home Living (TxHmL) and Deaf Blind with Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) Medicaid waiver programs.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) announces their collaboration with Camp CAMP (Children?s Association for Maximum Potential) to host Camp SIGN *July 21 ? July 26, 2024*.? ?

*WHAT:* Camp SIGN is an environment free of communication barriers for youth who are deaf or hard of hearing from around the state, regardless of their primary communication mode.? Camp SIGN provides an environment of acceptance and growth through its outdoor skills program.??

*WHO:* Camp SIGN campers are youth between the ages of 8 and 17 who are deaf or hard of hearing.?

*WHEN: *July 21 ? July 26, 2024

*WHERE: *Camp CAMP (515 Skyline Drive, Center Point, Texas 78010)

*ABOUT CAMP: *Camp CAMP is located in the Texas hill country, located in Center Point. The 55-acre property is home to CAMP's aquatic center, dining hall, healthcare center, arts & crafts center, nature center, a variety of cabins, and so much more.? Running through the property is the Guadalupe River providing a wealth of outdoor recreation opportunities including canoeing.
