The VMFA Girl Action Team is back!
This time, we're exploring the world of the Japanese Samurai to learn about its history and how it ties into art, culture, and Blackness.
In partnership with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, participants will be led by GFAC's Coach Nickey on an exploration that takes them into the world of Japanese Samurai. Along the way, they will learn about the history of Samurai and how this history ties into art, culture, and Blackness. Participants will join together to create and craft a stunning visual project about the history of Samurai.
This team meets every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30pm. It's free and open to all rising 9th-12th grade girls. Join us on Wednesday, February 14, for an information session at VMFA.
