Hi there,
We are proud to announce our latest wave of endorsed candidates ahead of the November elections. Meet our newest additions to our California roster!
Before we introduce you, will you chip in $20.24 or more to help us fund our support programs for these campaigns? [link removed]
✅ Allyson Muñiz Damikolas is running for U.S. Representative for California's 40th Congressional District – Abortion is a top issue for the district, and it’s also a top issue for Allyson personally because her daughters have a metabolic condition, and they could die if they become pregnant. She understands the urgency of this issue better than anyone – and certainly anyone else in her race. The district is currently represented by a Republican woman whose donors and supporters want a complete abortion ban, with no exceptions for rape or incest – and she has an A rating from the NRA. California’s 40th Congressional District is one of the most competitive seats in the country. It is one of the 18 seats across the country that President Biden won in 2020 but is currently held by a Republican representative, so it’s one of our best chances to help Democrats take back the House this year.
✅ Christy Holstege is running for California State Assembly, Assembly District 47 – Christy has dedicated her entire career to supporting women, advocating for our most vulnerable populations, and leading initiatives to advance parity, women's rights, and reproductive justice. Her opponent is incumbent Republican Assemblyman Greg Wallis. Christy actually ran against Wallis in 2022 for the same seat and lost by only 85 votes out of 170,000. That race was the closest CA Assembly race in 40 years. With our help, Christy will be able to finally take this seat and serve as the fiercely pro-choice representative her district needs.
✅ Dr. Darshana Patel is running for California State Assembly District 76 – This assembly district has not only never been held by a woman, but it has also never been represented by a person of color. Dr. Patel is ready to shatter both of those glass ceilings. As a daughter of Indian immigrants, mother of three daughters, and a community leader, Dr. Patel knows the importance of supporting women in her district. She will continue to support women's healthcare rights and access, affordable childcare, and gun sense laws. She plans to advocate for fully funding public education and closing the pay/wage gap. Due to term limits, this district will be an open seat in 2024. Patel has been in this race since early 2023, ready and waiting to serve her community.
✅ Nadia Farjood is running for Grossmont Healthcare District Board of Directors, Zone 3, San Diego County, California – Nadia fundamentally believes that every person should have access to the full range of reproductive health care services, including access to safe and legal abortion services, and that public funding is critical to achieving that access. Meanwhile, she is challenging a 71-year-old Republican male incumbent who has held the seat for 15 years. We’ll be telling you much more about this race in future emails. Stay tuned.
As you can see, we are supporting some incredibly qualified and fiercely pro-choice women running for important offices – offices that impact REAL people’s lives – in 2024. During this make-or-break election year, while abortion rights are on the line like never before, they are running to shatter glass ceilings, protect abortion access, and advocate for the safety of ALL Americans. Will you help us support our latest wave of endorsed candidates by donating $20.24 or more today?
