Dear Friend – Governor Shapiro presented a blueprint for the next state budget that includes important funding for clean transportation, conservation, and healthy homes. But to address the dire challenges facing so many Pennsylvania communities, our state leaders must make critical investments to protect our environment, curb carbon pollution, and prepare Pennsylvania to compete in a 21st century clean energy economy that moves us away from fossil fuels. Here’s what we are calling on PA legislators to do: - Increase investments in plugging orphaned and abandoned wells in order to create good-paying jobs and be eligible for federal funds
- Implement the transformative Solar for Schools Program to help reduce air pollution, create union jobs, and lower costs for taxpayers
- Follow through on the governor’s call for investments in public transit, efforts to replace lead service lines that threaten the health and safety of our families, climate smart agricultural practices, and the Whole Home Repairs program to help vulnerable Pennsylvanians
Our lobbying efforts have already begun, but we know that the best way to make sure our legislators hear us is for their constituents to speak out. Can you join us in asking your lawmakers to advocate for these priorities to be included in PA’s next budget? |
