It's inhumane to spread out homeless services all over the city.
Housing First policies make homelessness worse.
Blacks & Hispanics suffer most when crime is high.
President of Housing Forward More Focused on 'Equity' Than Her Job
Housing Forward is a Dallas-based non-profit that claims to be focused on “homeless solutions.” Sarah Kahn will be the new President and CEO of the organization and has already shown her inability to separate her work from personal politics. In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Sarah Kahn said she wants to “advance racial equity through the rehousing system.”
Sarah Kahn believes that certain races deserve better treatment than others regarding homeless resources.
These very policies are the reason that Dallas has seen no progress in solving the homelessness crisis. Our leaders are motivated by their Woke ideology rather than a real desire to solve the problem.
A responsible city would care for all its citizens regardless of race. Groups like Housing Forward obfuscate the problem by focusing on race. Homeless individuals of all races deserve equal access to the services designed to help them.
Dallas should take a page from San Antonio’s book on their successful Haven for Hope model and centralize all homeless resources to one location. People who want help should be able to get help, and they should not have to walk back and forth across the whole city to get it.
If the City Council wants to solve the real problems in Dallas, they should listen to their constituents and take real action; click the button to contact your council member and have your voice heard!
Two Dallas Areas Rank High for Crimes Against Blacks & Hispanics
There are consequences for Dallas City Council’s ideological obsession with misleading terms like “equity” and “racial justice.” Left-wing council members believe that police presence in Black and Hispanic neighborhoods is racist; however, sky-high violent crime rates in minority neighborhoods are the direct result of the lack of police presence. Dallas residents of all races deserve to live in safe neighborhoods. If council members cared for their constituents, they would urge DPD to hire more police officers!
The Dallas Zoo has been forced to increase security following a series of crimes last year. Businesses across Dallas have had similar experiences, which shows how quality of life plummets when cities allow criminals to thrive. Dallas’s city council refuses to take crime seriously and hire more police officers and the District Attorney refuses to do his job by refusing to prosecute criminals. At this rate, private security will be necessary for every business in Dallas!
Police Response Times for Highest Priority Calls Tick Up
Response times for top-priority calls continue to increase in Dallas. Our police department is not hiring enough officers and can’t retain the officers currently on the payroll. Why would competent police officers stay in Dallas when they can move to nearby cities that pay them more for less risk? Dallas per capita crime is up while the per capita police budget is down!
Each week the KDS team drives its planned route through Dallas photo-documenting illegal encampments to inform the city of these locations. Our team livestreams these activities giving the community a first-hand look at the vagrancy crisis in Dallas.
In this stream, we drove down the Interstate 35 corridor and showcased what a daily commute looks like for Dallas residents.
This camp in Jesse Moreno’s District 2 has been dubbed “Panhandler’s Paradise Camp.” Just off Interstate 35, drivers are greeted by a massive pile of trash overtaking the sidewalk. Vagrants, like the one napping under this trash heap, illegally steal public space for their own private use.
District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez's
"Starbucks Camp"
This camp in Omar Narvaez’s District 6 has earned the title “Starbucks Camp.” Vagrancy destroys communities. Businesses and residents are negatively affected by the runaway vagrancy crisis in Dallas. Residents don’t want to walk past filthy camps, and businesses suffer because of it. The city council makes it easy for people to live on the streets!
District 6 Councilman Omar Narvaez's
"Negligence Camp"
We named this camp in Omar Narvaez’s District 6 “Negligence Camp.” Most of the area under this bridge is fenced off because it belongs to the State, so these vagrants are camped out on the sidewalk because it belongs to the city. Vagrants in Dallas know that the city won’t enforce the law!
To Report an Encampment: Dial 3-1-1 or Call (214) 670-3111 and Click on your District Councilman to Email them with the Date and Camp Location.
Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
