This pandemic is exposing the ugliest parts of America.
A country that puts profits over lives. A country that refuses to ensure people have food in their bellies and a roof over their heads. And a country that consistently downplays the gravity of this moment by brushing off our demands for structural change.
It’s tragic that a global pandemic is what had to expose injustice across the United States, but systemic racism and classism are so ingrained in our nation that it took tragedy to wake us up.
Now is not the time for half-measures or temporary solutions. We need a radical approach to ensure that not only are people protected during a pandemic, but that we are prepared for all the small and large crises yet to come.
Our government has to prioritize the people who need it most: working families, the unhoused, the incarcerated, and the unemployed. Add your voice to ours now.

The rate at which the coronavirus is spreading is not going to slow down anytime soon. And as the government continues to undercut society’s most vulnerable, and instead focus on bailing out corporations, we will continue to see preventable deaths and global devastation.
Our lives are more important than corporate profits.
We need permanent sick leave for all Americans. We need Medicare for all with no work requirements. We need big bold solutions, not temporary fixes.
