Planning the future of Kingston: Land Use 101
Learn how basic planning principles impact community development and provide input on ways growth will be managed through 2044
The Kingston Community Advisory Council invites the public to join its meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14 in person at the Village Green Community Center, 26159 Dulay Road NE, with a virtual option via Zoom.
The meeting features a presentation by Kitsap County Deputy Administrator Eric Baker who will lead a discussion of core planning terms and implications to help the community comment on Kitsap County's update to the Comprehensive Plan currently underway. The plan includes a more focused Kingston Subarea Plan also under review. The presentation will cover planning principles such as density, height and types of zoning.
This is an excellent opportunity for the community to learn how updates to the Comprehensive Plan will shape future development over the next 20 years to accommodate growth and quality-of-life improvements. There will be information about how to submit comment on the draft plan and get more engaged. Broad community input is crucial. Everyone is welcome!
Council members will also share announcements about local events and happenings. There are opportunities for public comment. KCAC meetings are a great way to stay up to date on what's happening and find out how to get involved to help improve the community.
The agenda and meeting link to join via Zoom are posted on the Kingston Community Advisory Council website.
