PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACTION FUND
Hold anti-abortion members of Congress accountable:

Tell them to stop the attacks on Planned Parenthood patients and reproductive health and rights!
Add My Name

Every day the fight for reproductive rights is a little different. There are days we see progress, and days we suffer challenging losses. And I'll be honest, that means that sometimes I'm fueled by hope, and sometimes I'm powered by rage. We all need to stay motivated. Right now I'm going to share a little bit about what's giving me hope, and what's got me fired up.

First, the good news.

In 2023 — the first full year after the Supreme Court took away the constitutionally protected right to an abortion — hard-fought victories came from the Biden-Harris administration's work to protect and defend sexual and reproductive health, including abortion care.

And as a result of that work, we've been able to celebrate several victories, including:
  • Lifting medically unnecessary restrictions on mifepristone — one of the two medications commonly used for a medication abortion — so patients can access the medication more easily, including via telehealth
  • FDA approval of Opill, the first over-the-counter (OTC) birth control pill for people of all ages: As a result of this win, over 20 years in the making, Opill's debut on store shelves this year will make it the most effective birth control method sold in stores.
  • A court win to restore access to family planning services through the Title X program, the nation's only federal program dedicated to providing sexual and reproductive health care to people with low incomes

In fact, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund compiled a year-in-review of the many actions the Biden-Harris administration took. This good news reminds me how powerful we are when we stick together, and how many people are in this fight with us.

But there's bad news, too: The anti-abortion majority in the House is hellbent on undermining our progress at every turn — even as the Biden-Harris administration fights alongside Planned Parenthood Action Fund and other reproductive rights organizations to protect and defend sexual and reproductive rights.

Those members of Congress hostile to our rights continue to pack must-pass funding bills with measures to block our rights — trying everything they can to further their dangerous, unpopular anti-abortion agenda. They're fighting access to medication abortion, gender-affirming care, birth control, and other essential sexual and reproductive health care — regardless of the harm to patient health and safety.

Congress needs to hear from you. Tell them: Stop the attacks on Planned Parenthood patients and reproductive health care.

Act Now

We have big plans to expand and defend abortion access in 2024 — and we will hold accountable any members of Congress coming for our right to control our own bodies. Tell them now: The overwhelming majority of Americans support legal abortion, and they need to stand up for patients.

In solidarity,
