John,
When I led my local union’s strike against Kellogg’s in 2021, we knew what was at stake. The company wanted to slash our benefits and proposed cutting salaries for some workers by almost 40%.
During the strike, a woman came up to me and showed me a paycheck she had from Kellogg’s all the way back in 1996.
I couldn’t believe my eyes: The wages she made in 1996 were higher than what the company wanted to pay new workers 25 years later!
After I saw that, I knew we were in a fight not just for us, but for every future generation of workers and their families. So we dug in our heels, and we fought like hell.
For 11 weeks, we walked the picket line… no matter how cold the Nebraska winter got. As union president, I led the strike. And we won – protecting 500 good-paying jobs.
After the strike, I was fired. The company will say I wasn’t following policy… I say it was retribution for me having been union president. But when I look back, I would do it all over again tomorrow. We won an enormous victory for thousands of workers – present and future. And to me, that was worth losing my job over.
Now, I’ve decided I’m ready to take on an even bigger fight: I’m running against U.S. Senator Republican Deb Fischer – one of the most corporate politicians in the entire country.
And just like we took on a multi-billion dollar company and won, we are going to hold her accountable and defeat her too: A new poll shows I am LEADING by 2 points!
I am ready to be the 51st vote in the Senate for working people, but you’re crazy if you think I’ll ever take money from corporate PACs. So if I’m going to win and flip this seat, I am counting on grassroots donors like you to give right now:
I know what it means to work hard and sacrifice for something you believe in. I believe in our campaign – and I hope you’ll believe in me.
Thank you,
Dan Osborn
