Over 200 folks supported our launch and my progressive vision for DeKalb.
We spent the night sharing our stories, collecting contributions for our campaign (Will you join our team with a donation?), and talking about my three main goals for DeKalb that I'll continue pursuing as long as I'm in office, things like:
1️⃣ Expanding on the DeKalb Green New Deal – We must elevate the realities of the climate crisis, push for bold solutions and help enact meaningful policy solutions to protect our communities. This looks like clean energy projects, conserving undeveloped land and ensuring it is accessible, rooting our efforts in environmental justice and equity for all.
2️⃣ Increasing Access to Healthcare – Georgia has a 6-week abortion ban and is 1 of only 10 states to not have fully expanded Medicaid. Our lawmakers at the top are failing us, John. We need to be supporting our communities and actively defending our residents from the far-right legislation that cuts folks off from the care they need.
3️⃣ Improving Public Infrastructure – Our residents deserve a functional and clean place to live, but many systems in DeKalb are aging and deteriorating. By improving our roads, sidewalks, and trail networks, advocating for sustainable housing, and expanding rapid transit, we can create reliable county infrastructure that works for all of our residents.
The KickOff was great to jump-start my re-election campaign, but the work is far from over.
Team Ted will be coming out in full force to prepare for the May and November elections, and we want you to join us.
John your support is crucial for ensuring that we can continue making progressive changes in DeKalb beyond 2024. Can you chip in today to help support my mission?
