Ballot Petition Drives Around The Country

Connecticut

7,500 validated signatures must be submitted; due to potentially high rejection rates, our goal is usually more like 12,000-14,000 raw signatures.

Petition applications were available in early January, and we have started gathering signatures. There are 2 deadlines: petitions turned in to to SOTS office are due July 31  by 4:00 pm, but there’s one more week allowed for turning in to individual town clerks (deadline August 7 at 4:00 pm).

Volunteers can email [email protected].

Delaware

The Delaware Green Party needs to register at least 100 new Greens by May 24.

To register Green, go to https://ivote.de.gov/VoterView

Hawaii

There is an Urgent Need to gather 300 additional signatures this week. The deadline for submissions is February 22.

If you want to help, please contact Sylvia Litchfield at [email protected]

Illinois

Illinois has a short petitioning window. It begins on March 26 and ends June 24. We need 25,000 verified signatures. A minimum of 37,500 (1 & 1/2 times) are needed to buffer against the inevitable challenge.

Our petitioners would need to collect over 300 signatures a day in order to meet the deadline. We are sure to have some volunteers but not nearly enough to help with petitioning.

Visit https://www.ilgp.org/2024-presidential/ for additional information.

Massachusetts

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires 10,000 Town-certified signatures. Signatures are due at town offices July 30th.

Since historically 85% of submitted signatures have been gotten certified, this translates to (10,000 / 0.85) = ~12,000 (15,000 to be safe).

Petitions are available as early as February 13. The Green-Rainbow Party (GRP) plans to decide at the February 17 statecom meeting on which presidential and vice presidential candidates names to place on the petitions, and start collecting.

GRP risks placing other than the GPUS Nominees by starting before mid-July, but delaying until mid-July would leave only two weeks to collect signatures. Hence GRP will risk this by collecting now - if GRP chooses wrong, we'll write-in GPUSs Nominees in November.

Volunteers can signup at: https://www.green-rainbow.org/volunteer

Maryland

The Maryland Green Party needs to collect 10,000 valid signatures by this August. Because the petitions will be challenged, they goal is to collect 15,000.

You can help them either by collecting signatures or by making a financial contribution. For complete information, please visit https://www.mdgreens.org/ballot_access2024

Missouri

The Missouri Green Party needs to submit 10,000 valid signatures on July 29, 2024. Their goal is to collect 15,000.

The Nevada Green Party is gathering signatures now. The submission date is June 3.

10,685 signatures are required, and their goal is to collect 20,000. We currently have approximately 5000 signatures. The state party wants to thank the Nevada State Elections Board for being so helpful with our endeavor to gain Ballot Access.

Ohio Green Party Denounces Senate Bill 137

The Ohio Green Party condemns Senate Bill 137, legislation introduced by Senator Theresa Gavarone (R-Bowling Green) that seeks to ban ranked-choice voting (RCV) across the state. This regressive bill undermines democratic principles, silences voters, and forces them to choose between a limited and often unsatisfactory set of candidates that legislate against their constituents.
