Hi Friend,

Residential segregation was created and sustained by race-specific policies intended to keep Whites and African Americans from living near one another. Undoing segregation and remedying its ongoing harms requires policy solutions that are as race-specific as those that created our segregated society.

The current Supreme Court seems unwilling to support race-specific remedies, especially since it struck down affirmative action in university admissions in June 2023. How do we continue to advance race-specific policies that challenge segregation in this current political and legal landscape?

Join us at the 2024 Just Economy Conference ([link removed] ) where author Leah Rothstein, Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law ([link removed] ) , and Cashauna Hill, executive director of The Redress Movement ([link removed] ) , will host the session: Advancing race-conscious remedies in the era of a “color-blind” Supreme Court.
