John,

I've spent the last four decades to working my way up the ranks and internally reforming our local criminal justice system – and here's what inspired me to begin this lifelong journey:

As a teenager, simply helping my grandparents after the death of my father, I was shot at, beaten, and arrested by three white police officers in a case of mistaken identity.

While they got off with a slap on the wrist, this instance of racial profiling changed everything for me.

From the advice of my grandfather, I knew what needed to be done to change the system from within – and I had the ability to do that in my community. BUT what happens in my community doesn't change the reality for others like me across the country. John, can you chip in to help me make those people-first changes in Congress?

As ugly as the story is, facing police brutality is a reality for a disproportionate amount of Black young men in America. Our country has a history of oppressing marginalized communities, and it's up to us to end that – but extremists like Jeff Van Drew are holding us back.

Especially after Trump-era MAGA politics came to life in the late 2010's, there's been an overwhelming far-right push to reverse acts and policies protecting our civil rights – and Jeff Van Drew has been associated with all of them. Since he's held public office in New Jersey, he's been a strong advocate for:

👎 Overturning Roe V Wade and limiting access to reproductive care
👎 Keeping the minimum wage stagnant and disempowering the working class
👎 Rolling back protections for LGBTQ+ Americans
👎 Pulling funding from public schools
👎 Dismantling DEI initiatives and Affirmative Action
👎 Denying the legitimacy of our democracy and electoral processes

That's why I need your help, John. I can't get to Congress to change that narrative without a strong grassroots coalition supporting me.

John, we have to come together to put a principled, experienced, people-first leader in Congress. Can you chip in today to help us make that a reality this fall?

Tim Alexander
