There’s still time to register for our in-person March session of How To Lead Effective Locals, March 25-28, 2024 at AFGE headquarters! This three-day intensive, collaborative leadership development training, based on a popular course that National President Kelley developed for the P.O.R.T. Leadership Academy called How to Lead an Effective Local, is designed to have an immediate impact on AFGE local leaders. This program merges best practice theory and local leaders’ work-related experience to create a broad skill set to take back to locals. Being an effective leader requires a range of skills including self-awareness, communication, empathy, vision, delegation, critical thinking, creative problem solving, motivation techniques and instilling inspiration in others. Learn best practice leadership skills you can implement immediately.
This is a blended learning course incorporating self-paced learning and concluding with a 4-day in-person course. Participants must currently hold an elected position as a local officer or E-board member of a local; and have completed one or more of the following classes at a National, District or Regional (P.O.R.T.)
