Tiahna is the embodiment of the transformational, service-oriented leaders we’re working to support and elect at every level of public office here at New Politics. She’s not only an Army vet and clinical social worker, she’s also the founder of VETSxHBCU, an organization that supports veterans at more than 100 historically Black colleges and universities. The daughter of immigrants, she enlisted in the Army after graduating high school.

In this episode, Tiahna talks about her deeply personal and extraordinary professional journey to becoming an outspoken advocate for sexual assault survivors in the military, and how she continues to serve as both a clinical social worker and an activist with aspirations to serve through politics in the years ahead.

To hear more about Tiahna’s inspiring story and crucial activist work, listen to the full podcast episode here.

Thanks for keeping up with New Politics and the work of the incredible servant leaders who inspire our mission.

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
