I want to make sure you know what we're working on to address the Coronavirus pandemic.

To start, I joined my House colleagues in supporting two initial response packages that have both been signed into law. These bills were the starting point – they provide paid sick leave for people dealing with the coronavirus, expanded access to health care related to the coronavirus, relief for people who have been forced to stay home, and support for small businesses and non-profits that were forced to close, and more.

This is just the beginning.

We're still working to deal with both the immediate health care needs and the long-term economic consequences. I support a broad, coronavirus relief package for the American people that provides families with cash payments as soon as possible.

I'm talking about critical economic relief for people in Oregon and across the country – people who, very soon, could be running out of money. This is about making sure families across America don't go hungry in the coming weeks and months, and can stay in their homes.

And this is also about making sure people aren't profiting off of this pandemic – about targeting the stimulus relief for people who need it rather than lining the pockets of the biggest corporations.

We're negotiating the final details of the stimulus legislation right now. I am going to be reviewing it carefully and urging everyone to move quickly, responsibly, and in a bipartisan manner. The American people are waiting.

I'll keep you posted. Stay tuned.

Suzanne
